Page 17: Man in headdress and breastplate in red, yellow & blue frame
The profile portrait of a man with arms held out and wearing feather bonnet and bone breast plate is enclosed in a decorated frame. The date “1907”, if made at the time, suggests that this drawing was added around 20 years later than most of the other drawing on this album.
Page 18: Buffalo Dreamer 2 (see alternative view for rotated version)
This Transformed Buffalo Dreamer stands among the Sun Dance red and blue banners attached to a forked stick adorned with ties, and blue and red hoops that effect the transformation that appear towards the bottom. Note the circle at the heart of the figure that denotes the place where spiritual energy enters during transformation. The drawing is a direct copy of a Walter Bone Shirt Drawing at the University of Montana Mansfield Library. The image of the original drawing is in the Walter Bone Shirt Ledger - Mansfield Library, plate 19.
