p. 32 Blank p. 33 ANIMAL: ELK. Bull Elk This drawing resembles the elk in Plates 5, 15, and 17, except for the exaggerated branched antlers. The large animal fills the page, and . It faces right to left. This elk has ribs indicated by parallel lines across its midsection. Tufts of hair are detailed on the head. Other details are split front hooves (rear hooves are below the page), darker fur on the legs and head, tail, and a large rack of antlers (twenty-four points). The branched antlers resemble the tree branches of Plates 16 and 17. No eyes are visible. Media: Lead pencil outline, details, and fill
