No Ethnographic Notes For This Plate.
Why is the drawing called "Elk soldier counts coup on civilian"? From my point of view, this is a dog soldier. It is the same person as in plate 60. The snake-like rattle and the skunk belt around the horse's neck are typical Dog Soldier insignia.
