Shooting Cat's daughter, Anna Laura Shooting Cat attended the Carlisle Indian Industrial School in Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 1879. She is listed as the granddaughter of Chief Spotted Tail.
There are researchers connected to the descendants of the Carlisle School Experiment who are interested in the biographies of Shooting Cat and his daughter; and, how their lives ended.

On the SIRIS web site there is a photo of Shooting Cat where is tagged "White Man". The background setting is the same setting as it is for the photo of "Medicine Bull". One caption said the photos were taken at the St. Louis Exposition of 1904; and, the other caption indicated that the photos were taken in Washington, D.C. when Chief Spotted Tail was there in 1880. If anyone knows the true facts about these photos please post them here or on the Facebook Group mentioned above.
This word cannot be said, is is very disrespectful and American Indians never used it, and today it is a despised word. The writing in ink was not made by the artist and may have been added at a later time (?). Just sayin' .
